Biography

Mrs Alison Pottle trained at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and completed further training in coronary care (ENB 124) at West Middlesex University Hospital. She has served in several roles at Harefield Hospital since 1985, including being a senior staff nurse, a sister and a resuscitation officer. She has worked in various areas of the hospital, both in the wards and in the medical high dependency unit. In 2000, Alison was appointed as a nurse consultant in cardiology, one of the first of its kind in the country. In addition, Alison achieved first prize in Cardiac Nursing Awards in 2008 for excellence in primary and secondary prevention. Clinical expertise: In 2014, Alison established a new pre-admission unit and is in the process of extending pre-admission service to all elective admissions. Alison is also an advanced life instructor and has set up and run a course on this subject at Harefield. Publications: Mrs Alison Pottle has been published in a number of cardiac and nursing journals on a wide range of subjects.
