Dr. Wane has a PhD in Nursing Science as well as a master’s degree from University of South Florida and is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She also has undergraduate degrees in Nutrition and Nursing from Brooklyn College and Downstate Medical Center College of Nursing. Dr. Wane is the BSN Program director at Pasco-Hernando State College. She has published numerous supplements in textbooks as well as journal articles and has been serving as an editorial board member and peer reviewer for several journal publications. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor society.

Sofica Bistriceanu, MD, Ph.D., graduated from Iasi University in Romania and family medicine research at Maastricht University. She joined the European, American, and Asian Primary Care Research Group, American Academy on Communication in Healthcare, APTR, IHI, NICHQ, EPCCS, EURACT, and WONCA Meetings. With over 90 research studies shared internationally, she has been recognized with numerous awards. Dr. Sofica Bistriceanu is a member of the Academy for Professionalism in Health Care, serves on the Editorial Review Board for The Journal of Patient Experience (JPX), and is an Associate Editor for PriMera Scientific Publication. She represents the Academic Medical Unit- CMI, NT, ROU. Additionally, she is the author of seven volumes of poetry published by Chronica, Iasi Publishing House, and Time, Iasi Publishing House.

Bernd Blobel, University of Regensburg

Prof. Blobel studied Mathematics, Technical Cybernetics and Electronics, Theoretical Physics, Biocybernetics, Informatics, and Medicine at different universities in East Germany. He received the PhD degree in Physics, a habilitation in Medicine, and a habilitation in Medical Informatics. He was Head of the Physical Laboratory in Environmental Medicine at the Medical University Magdeburg and thereafter Head of the Medical Informatics Department and then Director of the Institute For Biometrics and Medical Informatics at the Medical Faculty of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. In 2004, he became Founder and Head of the Health Telematics Project Group at Fraunhofer Society, Institute of Integrated Circuits (IIS), Erlangen, and thereafter Head of the German National eHealth Competence Center (eHCC) at the University of Regensburg.

At the UCSF School of Medicine, he is Director of the Corporate Health Improvement Program (CHIP) which is a research program between CHIP and 15 of the Fortune 500 corporations including Apple, Cisco, American Airlines, IBM, Dow, Prudential, Cummins, Ford, NASA, and Pepsico. He also serves as a Vice President with American Specialty Health (ASH).

Lori is currently working as a wound care educator at Kane Educational Seminars. Lori received her Associate Degree in Nursing and RN license in 1987, having graduated from Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa, Florida. Lori then went on to complete a Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 1995 and a Masters in Community Health from Independence University in 2001. She obtained her Wound Ostomy Continence nursing certifications in 2004 and a certification in foot care nursing in 2005. She also completed legal nurse and lymphedema management courses. She also served as a nursing assistant trainer and works in teaching roles such as continuing education. Her past roles have served hospitals, long term care facilities, home health agencies, a worker’s compensation company as a clinical reviewer, and the opening and clinical management of an outpatient wound care clinic. She also currently serves as a legal nurse consultant for pressure injury cases and remains a certified wound care nurse through WOCN Certifying Board.

Ben Marthey studied nursing at Cuyahoga Community College graduating with an associate degree in nursing. He began working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in 2012 spending 2 years in the ICU before moving into the RN circulator role at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in cardiac surgery. In 2018, he finished his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Ohio University graduating Magna Cum Laude. After 2 years working and learning the circulator/scrub nurse role he obtained his CNOR certification and after 2 years obtained his Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant certification. Currently he’s the lead educator for his department.

Vanessa K. Williams-Harvey is the Founder of HippoCLIN and a Clinical Informatics Manager. She spearheads the team at DUES24, which recently launched HippoCLIN—a groundbreaking Electronic Health Record (EHR) training app offering healthcare students 24/7 access to a simulated EHR environment. This innovative platform fills a crucial gap in clinical education, enhancing the training experience for future healthcare professionals. Vanessa is passionate about leveraging technology to empower students and healthcare providers alike, ensuring they are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in today’s rapidly evolving digital healthcare landscape. With over 30 years of nursing experience—16 of those years spent at the bedside and 15 years in informatics—Vanessa has a deep understanding of patient care and the systems that support it. In her current role as Clinical Informatics Manager, she works closely with analysts to develop EHR systems that meet the needs of both clinicians and patients, improving overall care delivery. The challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic further solidified her commitment to developing HippoCLIN, launching the app in 2023 to ensure healthcare students can train with the latest digital tools. Beyond her professional endeavors, Vanessa is deeply committed to charitable work. She is the founder of the annual Derby Alzheimer’s Luncheon, advocating for Alzheimer’s awareness, a cause close to her heart following her personal experience detailed in her 2017 book, “I Remember”. Vanessa’s passion for service extends beyond healthcare—she is a veteran, having served three years in the US Army, where she developed the leadership skills and discipline that continue to shape her professional life today. Joshua Lozoff, Life is Magic, United States

Joshua Lozoff has been speaking and performing for nearly twenty years. Before turning his attention to speaking, Joshua was a professional actor with featured roles on the TV show Cheers (as Gino Tortelli) and in the movie Clueless. After 14 years as a professional actor, Joshua left Hollywood to devote more time to service work, including volunteer stints throughout Latin America. It was during his travels that a chance encounter with a street magician sparked a new passion, and Joshua began his training. Today, he presents his keynote presentation, “The Magic of Communication” at conferences, seminars and retreats throughout the country.
